Preventing Swollen Gums Effectively With Premiere Methods

Gum disease is an infection of the gum tissues that surrounds the teeth and it is also one of the primary causes of tooth loss among adults. With regular dental check ups, swollen gums and gum disease can be diagnosed early. The two major phases of gum disease are gingivitis and periodontitis.

Gingivitis is the earliest and mildest form of gum disease; it is being indicated by red, tender, bleeding and swollen gums an d periodontitis is the advance stage of gum disease where gum infection has already progressed affecting the gum tissues and the bones that support  the teeth. Gum disease is being initialized by plaque which is the sticky colorless film that stick on the enamel of the tooth and formed from bacteria.

Swollen gums and gum disease can be effectively prevented by knowing the underlying cause of the condition. Superior oral care that includes regular brushing and flossing and a mouth rinse made from warm water and salt is an effective way to prevent swollen gums and gum disease.  Dental check ups and professional cleanings should also be included in your oral care regimen. When swollen gums are left untreated it can progress to periodontitis and may even trigger the development of certain diseases and eventually tooth loss.
